Call me crazy but I’ve been dying for a pair of high-top, wedged sneakers for a few years now. I just never felt confident enough to take the plunge. I mean, they’re a little out there, no? However, I finally went for it this season, and I couldn’t be happier about the purchase!
Going with a basic black was a good move, too. I always find that when I jump into a trend it works best if I go with a more neutral color/style and ease my way in. Maybe in a year, I’ll have some crazy color combos coming atcha in my sneaker game.
Keeping it casual-cool, I tend to pair my high tops with comfy tees and jeans (note: Hudson Nico Super Skinny Jeans are my absolute FAVORITE brand/style of skinnies!). Again, another way to ease my way without going too far, too fast. If you haven’t checked out Silver in the City‘s Indy apparel, you should. I picked up this Ride Indiana tee on a Mass Ave. date night with Sam a few months ago. It’s gotten it’s fair share of wear and remains a favorite on casual days. Not to mention it supports local and promotes the city we love and live in.
Since the temps are definitely dropping, I’ve been pulling out jackets a lot and noticed I was missing a basic black jacket that was just right for seasonal transitions. This North Face Anna Jacket (purchased from Urban Outfitters) is such a good layering piece that doesn’t feel heavy but keeps me warm.
Casual-cool. That was my motto when I put this one on. What do you think?
